SAE J 2825 pour contrôler le bruit excessif

Je lisais sur des sites américain que certaines états et ou villes désirent instauré des lois encore beaucoup plus restrictives que la norme J2825, incluant des silencieux homologué et gravé par le fabricant de moto et vérification annuelle avec vignette apposé sur la motos tel que désiré au New-Hampshire, limites de bruit n’excédant pas celle d’une voiture, il y a même quelques uns qui désirent que les gens de l’extérieur de leurs juridictions soient obligés de se conformer à leurs règlementation ou être susceptible à recevoir une amende des policiers locales lors de passage chez eux avec des silencieux illégaux. (Bonne source de revenus supplémentaires aussi localement)

Est-il nécessaire dans dire plus, pour être rendu là les citoyens, résidant et municipalités ont passé leurs limites de tolérance sur les motos bruyantes.

L’AMA, Americain Motorcycle Association ainsi que les fabricants de motos incluant H-D et l’association de concessionnaires de motos aux USA endossent pleinement le contrôle du bruit abusif et souhaite que le J2825 soit adopté par tous plutôt que des lois locales, tous différentes d’un endroit à l’autre.

Pourtant j'ai lu souvent le commentaire "je vais rider au STATE, ils nous achales pas avec les strait pipe eux autres" , ca l'air que ca les dérange quand même un peu....

Aussi pour restaurer une vieille moto avec pas nécessairement les pieces d'origine.

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF CALEDON
BY-LAW NO. 2010-117
Being a by-law to amend By-law 86-110, as amended,
to establish a standard to measure motorcycle noise
WHEREAS Council considers it desirable to provide for a balance between Caledon residents requesting a reasonable level of peace and quite in their neighbourhood and motorcycle enthusiasts who ride their motorcycles in Caledon neighbourhoods, thereby generating excessive noise; and,
WHEREAS Council considers it desirable to amend By-law 86-110, as amended, (the Noise By-law), to establish a standard by which to measure motorcycle noise;
NOW THEREFORE the Council for The Corporation of the Town of Caledon ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1.
That section 1 (1) of By-law 86-110 be amended by the insertion of the following definitions:
“(dd) dB(A)
“dB(A)” means the sound pressure measured in decibels using the “A” weighted scale of a sound level meter set to fast response;
(ddd) Decibel
“Decibel” means a unit for expressing the relative intensity of sounds on a scale from zero for the average least perceptible sound to approximately 130 for the average pain level;
(k) RPM
“RPM” means revolutions per minute;
(l) Sound Level Meter
“Sound Level Meter” means a device used to measure sound pressure which meets the American National Standards Institute S1.4-1983(R2006), or the International Electro-Technical Council Standard No. 123, or the British Standard no. 3539 Part 1, or the U.S.A. Standard S1.4-196, as amended.
2. That paragraph 1(1)(j) be amended by removing the period at the end of the sentence and replacing it with “; and”.
3.
That By-law 86-110 be amended by the following:
(1) By inserting the following section immediately after section 2:
“2A. (1) No person shall operate a motorcycle on any highway if
the motorcycle:
1.
emits any sound exceeding 92 dB(A) from the exhaust outlet as measured at 50 centimetres by means of a sound level meter set to fast response while the engine of the motorcycle is at idle; or
2.
is a one, two, five or six cylinder motorcycle and emits any sound exceeding 96 dB(A) from the exhaust outlet as measured at 50 centimetres by means of a sound level meter set to fast response when the engine is at 2000 RPM; or
3.
is a three or four cylinder motorcycle and emits any sound exceeding 100 dB(A) from the exhaust outlet as measured at 50 centimetres by means of a sound level meter set to fast response when the engine is at 5000 RPM.
(2) No person shall refuse to provide a motorcycle owned or operated by him to an officer of the Ontario Provincial Police or to a municipal by-law enforcement officer for the purpose of conducting a sound lever meter test on the motorcycle owned or operated by him when requested to do so by an officer of the Ontario Provincial Police or by a municipal by-law enforcement officer.”
(2) By inserting the following section immediately after section 4:
“4A. This by-law may be enforced by the officers of the Ontario Provincial Police and Town of Caledon By-law Enforcement Officers.”
4.
This by-law shall be in force and effect on June 1, 2011.
